Accounting & Information Systems Division

The Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) Division was formed in July 2017 as a merger between the Accounting Division and the Management Information Systems (MIS) Division. MIS is the study of the design, implementation, management, and use of information technology applications in organizations. Relatedly, Accounting is the study of external and internal financial reporting systems, and the auditing of those systems.

The MIS Division, in addition to being part of the UBC Sauder School, has a very diverse and active community which includes of course our students and faculty, but – very important to us – also a very supportive business community, an alumni group, and affiliated professional organizations and associations. We are in particularly proud of our Advisory Board, Alumni Committee, and the students BizTech Network.
